Our women's session, Taekwondo4Women, aims to create a community of like-minded ladies who enjoy training together; it is a friendly, supportive and relaxed environment where students come to have fun and feel comfortable learning a martial art together.

Although all students need to become members (this covers insurance for martial arts), there is no pressure to grade - just come along and have some fun!

A typical class is a mix of:

- fitness, strength and conditioning exercises

- pad work to practice technique and develop power

- line work (working on techniques in formation)

- stretching for greater flexibility

- patterns & syllabus work

We use many low-impact Pilates-style exercises as part of the warm-up. It is an invaluable training tool to improve strength, balance and flexibility and bring greater self-awareness of the body's mechanics, and it perfectly complements the movements in taekwondo.

The classes are aimed at women. No matter what your age or fitness level, you will be able to participate as the exercises are adaptable and everyone works to their individual ability: the only person you are competing with is yourself! Much of the pad work is done in pairs which allows students to work at their own pace.

We meet on Thursday evenings at 8pm (7.30pm for beginners) at St Anne's Hall, Letchworth Rd, Leicester LE3 6FN: new students are most welcome!
